American Precision Museum

196 Main St., Windsor, VT
Open Year Round

The American Precision Museum combines the atmosphere of an original 19th century factory building with a world-class collection of historic machines. The 1846 armory building, the “Shaping America” exhibition and accompanying programs explore industrial history in the context of innovation, creative problem solving, and the impact of precision manufacturing on American history and culture.

The building is a National Historic Landmark and an International Mechanical Engineering Heritage Site. The Education Program includes both an active Learning Lab where guests can tinker and innovate for themselves and our Innovation Station - a working machine shop demonstrating modern day operations. Interactive exhibits emphasizing history, culture and engineering round out the experience - along with expert museum interpreters available for guided tours.

At the American Precision Museum, past innovations and current ingenuity come together. This is the place where history, science, and industry meet. Demonstrations of 21st century machines available.
