A self-guided and relaxing way to experience Vermont’s natural beauty while staying at charming country inns along the way. Explore Southern Vermont’s historic attractions, old-fashioned swimming holes, bookstores, antique shops, picturesque lakes and mountain streams, on back country roads, most of which are gravel or dirt. The walk, at 7-13 miles a day, is a 40+ mile circle, so your last day’s self-guided walk will return to the first inn where your car is parked awaiting your arrival.
Arrive at the first Inn and enjoy dinner the evening prior to your first self-guided walk. Vermont Inn to Inn Walking Tour will provide directions and orientation to the next day’s walk. After breakfast the next morning you will receive snacks for the day and head out on your walk. The innkeeper will transport your bags to the next Inn prior to your arrival. When you've completed the days' walk, clean up, relax and enjoy a great evening meal. The next three days offer more great gourmet country breakfasts, different routes, and great evening meals: truly a trip of a lifetime.
