Founded in 1985, Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is dedicated to sharing the history, archaeology, and ecology of the Champlain Valley. Open from May through October each year, the museum’s 3-acre campus features a myriad of fascinating exhibits, tours, hands-on activities, boat building, rowing, sailing, and underwater research.

There’s something for everyone at this unique community museum. Learn about the role Lake Champlain played in the American Revolution, take a Shipwreck Tour by boat on Lake Champlain, dive into the history uncovered from shipwrecks, explore the story of Prohibition in Vermont, shop local books in the Museum Store, browse historic small boats or Vermont's own yellow submarine, catch a free demonstration, and so much more.

The Museum also holds sailing classes, nature canoe tours, group rowing lessons, and more throughout their season. The Museum is free for all to visit, open daily from 10 am to 4 pm from May through October.
