Built in 1917 as the private estate of the wealthy socialite Gertrude Divine Webster, the Southern Vermont Arts Center now provides visitors with a comprehensive opportunity to be immersed in the arts. The original home and carriage barn remain, sitting on just over 100 acres. The campus features art galleries, education studios, a performing arts theater, and the largest sculpture garden in Vermont.

The historic and charming main building of the former estate, Yester House, is home to 10 galleries, a children’s activity room, and SVAC’s curATE café. Guests can enjoy rotating exhibits of the work of member artists in all medium, variety, technique, concept, and background in addition to viewing other curated exhibitions throughout the year. Across the campus, the spacious galleries of the Wilson Museum provide a contemporary setting for select rotating exhibitions. SVAC also houses a permanent collection of over 900 pieces of work.

The Arkell Pavilion is one the area’s finest performing arts spaces. With seating for 400 people.
