Caledonia Spirits, based in Montpelier, is the maker of Barr Hill Gin, America’s Most Awarded Gin. Founded by a Vermont beekeeper, the distillery uses local raw honey as the key contributor of botanical depth in its core line of Barr Hill spirits at their state-of-the-art, sustainable distillery and cocktail bar in Montpelier. Caledonia Spirits produces Barr Hill Gin, barrel-aged Barr Hill Reserve Tom Cat Gin, and Barr Hill Vodka, and in late 2023 released their much awaited Phyllis Rye Whiskey, made entirely from Vermont grown grains.
The Caledonia Spirits Distillery, located on the aptly named “Gin Lane'' in Montpelier, is dedicated to crafting world class spirits that build the connection between agriculture and cocktail culture. The distillery features a full cocktail bar with seasonal small plates, and hosts regular events, educational cocktail classes, tours and more. The distillery’s Landcrafted approach honors the bounty of the land, the labor of farmers and the pivotal role of bees in agriculture.
